The organization is transforming its IT software development methodology to
Agile/Scrum. The candidate must be an experienced Agile
"ScrumMaster" with the ability to guide a self-organized team of
software developers towards completion of the business (product owner)
objectives. Working in two-week time boxes, the ScrumMaster must ensure
the team is focused on building the right capabilities and coaches the team in
Agile/Scrum best practices.
The organization is also now leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to
organize a group of Agile teams who are all working on separate, but related,
functionality for the business. The ScrumMaster preferably has experience
with SAFe and ensure their team will be able to integrate with the other teams'
software at the end of the project.
The organization uses Atlassian's Jira software to manage Agile teams'
delivery. ScrumMaster will be responsible for entering team work items
into Jira, monitoring progress against goals in Jira, and producing reports for
management review.
The candidate may also be asked to work in a more traditional "Project
Manager" role, depending on business needs. In that function,
candidate will provide management and strategic direction to the project team
and share responsibility (with Business Partner) for the project development,
budget and schedule. Create, monitor, and update a detailed project plan.
Establish work plan for each phase of project. Establish goals, negotiate
project commitments and develop project plans. Coordinate development and gain
approval of the business and technical requirements documents and project scope
definition. Coordinate the formulation and definition of technical scope and
objectives in collaboration with technical subject matter experts. Engage
proper company resources for engagement with contractors, suppliers, customers,
departments, and other parties as required. Direct and coordinate activities of
PM project personnel, including outsourced or offshore staff, to ensure
projects progress on schedule and within budget; as needed.

Requirements:
- First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM) desired
- Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software
development team
- Experience with successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD,
Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile
Games
- Experience applying a wide variety of techniques for filling in the
intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown
techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills - Experience in applying Agile
to hybrid software-hardware development projects Successful candidate must be
able to work in a highly dynamic, cross-functional environment, interacting
with hardware engineering and data analytics professionals.
Masters degree preferred but not required.
